I will never do anything wrong. ・あなたが私の宝物を全て持っていってよい。 You may take all my treasure. 注）あくまで作文例で、これが正解というわけではありません。 ━＜３．今日のポイント ＞━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 【ポイント・その１】-------------------------------------------- ◆「〜のもいれば、…のもいる」とか「〜のもあれば、…のもある」 ときたら、some 〜 others … を使ってみましょう。 例 「何人かの少年は〜で、 何人かの少年は…」というとき、いくつかの 表し方があります。 (1) some boys 〜 and other boys … （普通の言い方） (2) some boys 〜 and others … （other boys → others ) （後のboyを省略した形） (3) some 〜 and others … (boy がなくてもわかる場合） 例文 (1) Some houses are big, and other houses are small. [ 大きな家もあれば、小さな家もある。] [ いくつかの家は大きく、いくつかの家は小さい。] (2) Some students went shopping, and others went sightseeing. [ 買い物に出かける生徒もいれば、観光に行く生徒もいた。] [ 何人かの生徒は買い物に出かけ、何人かの生徒は観光に行った。] (3) Some like Giants and others don't. [ジャイアンツが好きなものもいれば、そうでないものもいる。] そこで、「殺された鬼もいれば、捕らえられた鬼もいました。」 を英語にするときは(2)のパターンを使って Some monsters were killed, and others were captured. としてみました。 【ポイント・その２】-------------------------------------------- ◆something ＋形容詞、 anything ＋形容詞 の復習 something, anything, nothing などは名詞です。 普通、名詞と形容詞の関係は 形容詞＋名詞 という順序になることが多いですよね。 例） big car, beautiful girl でも、something, anything, nothing は特別で something＋形容詞、 anything＋形容詞 等となります。 例） something big [何か大きなもの] something beautiful [何か美しいもの] 不定詞の形容詞的用法と似てますね。 例） something to eat [何か食べる物] → [何か食べ物] something to drink [何か飲む物] → [何か飲み物] では「何か冷たい飲み物」となったら、どうでしょう。 something cold to drink と形容詞が優先みたいです。 そこで、「二度と悪いことはいたしません。」 を英語にするときは I will never do anything wrong. としてみました。 ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Review Some monsters were killed, and others were captured. (a) は、殺された鬼もいるし、捕らえられた鬼もいる。その他の鬼もい るかも知れない。つまり、逃げたのもいるかもね ってな感じです。 (b) は、鬼は、殺されるか捕らえられるかのどちらかしかなかった。と いうことです。 塾長の作文例は(a)の方でした。桃太郎は意外とおおざっぱだったわけ です。the があるかないかで、桃太郎の性格までわかってしまうとは・ ・・・恐るべしthe の役割、といったところでしょうか ------------------------------------------------------------ |
