In this example the * side of the glass is sunlight. The bottom of the glass is water drops. The side of the cone is reflected red light, and the * tip of the cone is your eyes. In this case, the angle between the side of the glass and the side of the cone is always 42°. Then you see round red light. We can explain other colors in the same way. In this way we see a round rainbow. When you are on the ground, you cannot see * below the * horizon. Then you see only a part of a rainbow above the horizon. But, when you are in a plane above the clouds, you see a round rainbow below you. |
